On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, Galen University’s President’s Seminar Series was hosted by Ms. Salina Rico, U.S. Embassy’s Vice Consul. With a background in International Economics and much experience in foreign exchange programs, Ms. Rico discussed the topic of Immigration and Diversity in the United States. The afternoon’s presentation discussed general statistics pertaining to the movement of the different groups of people into the U.S., and then contextualized the issue by detailing various important historical events that impacted these movements. Thereafter, Galen University’s students were engaged in discussion, raising questions and concerns pertaining to the topic. The session was completed with a brief presentation of an Award of Participation by the University’s Provost, Dr. Aline Harrison.
Galen University expresses gratitude to Ms. Salina Rico for delivering such an excellent presentation as part of the President’s Seminar Series.
