The political fever is rising at Galen University! On November 21, 2012, the debate in collaboration with the election of a new Student Government Association was held in the Lecture Hall at the University’s main campus in Central Farm, and was facilitated by two members of Faculty – Professors, Sherry Gibbs and Clifton Hill.  Each of the slates was strongly represented by their candidates; Team Spirit and Revolutionary 6 informatively addressed students in attendants of the various project ideas which they aspire to implement, if granted the chance to represent the University’s student body.

Both slates were challenged with questions including initiatives to integrate participation from all of the University’s campuses (Central Farm, Belmopan, Dangriga, Belize City, Orange Walk and Corozal), to improve basic student facilities, and overall upliftment of student life at every of the University’s campus across Belize.  Team Spirit and Revolutionary 6 both expressed plans to encourage more student involvement through on- and off-campus activities, while keeping abreast of Galen’s value toward sustainable development.  As the debate came to an end, both Presidential Candidates shared remarks of empowering students and to ensure that the Galen Eagles Spirit is kept alive among the students.
