I am honoured and humbled to be elected as Chairman, and I thank all my colleagues on the Board and the newly appointed President, Dr Rene Villanueva. I promise to reward their confidence in me by giving my best to the work of the Board towards making Galen University the best it can be in attaining its vision and mission.

To achieve this objective, the Board will endeavour to work as a team, with full respect for each other and appreciative of all ideas and contributions. We will consult and interact as often as possible with the deans, professors, students, parents, supporters, and external partners. 

We will focus on the emerging topics, policies, challenges, and proposals that are important for learnings for high level education, student career development and personal growth, and institutional strengthening, towards inclusiveness and sustainability in terms of our social, economic, political, and ethical priorities. 

As a Board, we must embrace change, new knowledge, seek fresh resources and innovations, always, to accelerate our theories of change for improving our human capital for nation building. To make progress, we must apply proven principles to allocate limiting resources to many competing opportunities but, at the same time, fully cognizant that we should not place all our eggs in one basket.  

Finally, I wish to thank in advance Galen’s President, the Board of Directors, the Provost and Management, Faculty Deans, Professors and Lecturers, support staff, and above all, the Student Council, and the students, for their camaraderie in moving forward.
