Galen University admits students in January, May, and August of each year.  Application forms must be fully completed they can be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. It is the applicant’s responsibility to begin the process in a timely manner so that the Office of Admissions receives transcripts and all other documentation at least four weeks before the start of a semester. Applications for admission are processed on a rolling basis.

If you are a prospective international student and your secondary and/or post-secondary school documents are not in English, you must submit notarized translations of them along with your original documents. Admission Requirements:

  • A willingness to work hard, expand academic skills, strengthen character, respect others, keep abreast of social issues, analyze social problems, work in interdisciplinary groups and apply knowledge and skills acquired to solve social problems;
  • A commitment to high standards of personal ethics in all human interaction at Galen University;A Cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 Grade Point Scale from your feeder institution;
  • A required proof English proficiency evidenced by one of the following: ATLIB English score of 60 or above, CXC General Grade 1 or four (4) semesters of University-level English classes with a cumulative grade of 2.50 or above (applicants without any of these qualifications will be required to take four semesters of College English);
  • The production and submission of an original essay of 1,000 words that responds to the following question and instruction:
  • What are three skills and three character traits you think employers will expect in university graduates in the next 5 years? Describe in detail the personal changes or actions you are willing to make while studying at Galen to develop these skills and traits. Sign your essay to confirm that it is your work and it is a true reflection of your thoughts and writing skills. Any evidenced conclusion that your submission is not your own work will be grounds for denial of admission into Galen.

High School Graudates:

On-Campus students at Galen University travel just about four miles to the town of Santa Elena or San Ignacio where they can share an apartment for as little as $200 BZ a month or board with one of the many carefully selected host families.

The twin towns are very safe and relaxing. They are surrounded by captivating, scenic views. San Ignacio has all the amenities of being home including banking, cultural, sporting and other entertaining events. The town is host pf variety of great eateries, culture-driven stores and coffee shops.
