Monica Y. Manzur earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2015. During her time at the university she also worked as a Resident Assistant for the Housing Department at NMSU. Shortly after graduation, Ms. Manzur held the role of Resident Director for NMSU Housing and Residential Life from 2015-2016. During this time, Ms. Manzur had an increased interest in student affairs. She had a passion for working with college students, specifically with assisting students in different capacities to ensure persistence throughout their undergraduate career.
To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure.
Later that year, Ms. Manzur commenced her graduate program at Northern Arizona University where she obtained her Master of Education- Counseling in Student Affairs in 2018. Ms. Manzur worked as a graduate assistant for a mentoring program that assisted first year out-of-state students transition to university life. In her second year, she also worked for the International Student Services Office which worked primarily with international student with immigration cases. She also assisted with programming specifically connecting international students with domestic students on campus. After graduation, Ms. Manzur moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she worked as the Residence Coordinator at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
