PEER Mentor Program

The Peer Eagles Exhibit Resilience (PEER) Mentor Program is designed to provide a mentor to each new incoming student for their first semester. The mentoring program is aimed at assisting students with their transition to Galen University, assist with academic success, and creating a sense of belonging. Furthermore, the program aims to impact retention and graduation rates.

Vision

The PEER Mentor Program strives to enhance the student-centered commitment by providing every new incoming student with a supportive, dynamic, and focused environment where students, staff, and faculty can learn and grow together.

Goals & Objectives

  • Assist students with their transition to university and expectations of college
  • Inform students about available university resources
  • Provide a platform to explore self-identity
  • Develop connectedness to the mentor, other students, faculty, staff, and to the university
  • Develop effective study skills, time-management, good habits, goal setting
