Certificate in Education Leadership

Galen University’s Certificate in Education Leadership program prepares secondary school teachers, principals, vice-principals, and department heads for leadership roles in educational institutions. The program consists of the following 5 courses:

• EDUC 530: School Leadership in Belize
• EDUC 535: Leadership for Change
• EDUC 540: Strategic Leadership
• EDUC 545: Leading Teachers
• EDUC 550: Stewardship of Schools

Students with a full license to teach at the secondary level and who are currently teaching at a high school in Belize can enroll in this one-year Certificate in Educational Leadership program. The program is fully online and is designed to accommodate students who are employed. This program is approved by the Belize of Teacher Education (BBTE) and upon completion, graduates from this program will qualify for full licensure as principals, vice principals and department heads at the secondary level.

This certificate program is a 15 credit hour program that can be completed in 3 semesters. This is a fully online program offered from 6:00 p.m – 9:00 p.m, two nights per week. You will be assigned a leadership coach who will work with you during your time at Galen University to help you to achieve the leadership goals you set for yourself as a leader in the institution where you work.

Galen University’s Certificate in Educational Leadership program is approved and recognized by Belize’s Board of Teacher Education and can be used to support Galen University graduates’ applications for full teaching licenses and salary upgrades.
