Student Employment

Student Employment contributes to the learning and development a student acquires during their academic journey.  In order to be eligible for a student employee position, you must have a 3.0 GPA and should not be failing courses in your program of study. You can only have one student employment position at a time. These positions are given for the term of employment and can be renewed based on performance. The next application cycle opens in November of 2024.

PEER Mentor Program

The Peer Eagles Exhibit Resilience (PEER) Mentor Program is designed to provide a mentor to each new incoming student for their first semester. The mentoring program is aimed at assisting students with their transition to Galen University, enabling academic success, by providing every new incoming student with a supportive, dynamic, and focused environment where students, staff, and faculty can learn and grow together. PEER Mentors are contracted on a semester basis, based on availability, and contribute 120 work hours per semester which is remunerated with a 50% tuition waiver. The PEER Mentor program is held during the fall and spring semesters only. Selection of PEER Mentors is conducted by the scholarship committee.

Tutoring Program

To further create an enabling environment where each student can attain academic success, Galen University has developed a tutoring program. Student tutors are contracted, on a semester basis, to provide face-to-face and online tutoring in the areas of Math, Accounting, Spanish and English. Tutors are expected to contribute 120 hours per semester (10 hours per week) and are remunerated with a 50% tuition waiver.
